SGS supports students in Berlin and Potsdam, who established the first Student Chapter of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) in Germany. Under the patronage of SEG, our SEG Student Chapter Berlin & Potsdam has been promoting interest in and knowledge about geophysics as well as its application in industry and academia since June 2007.
SEG is a nonprofit organization with more than 27,000 members that promotes the science of applied geophysics and the education of geophysicists. SEG, founded in 1930, fosters the expert and ethical practice of geophysics in the exploration and development of natural resources, in characterizing the near surface, and in mitigating earth hazards.
